FAQs
Visit Visa: your questions
Still unsure? A ten-minute call usually settles it.
How long can my parents stay?
Up to 6 months per visit. Long-term visit visas (2, 5 or 10 years) allow repeat visits, but each stay is still limited to 6 months, and they must not live in the UK through frequent visits.
My visitor was refused before. Can they apply again?
Yes. Visit refusals have no right of appeal, so the answer is a better application that deals directly with the reasons given. We start from the refusal letter.
Do all nationalities need a visit visa?
No. Many nationalities, including US and EU citizens, need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) instead. We confirm what your visitor needs.
Can a visitor marry in the UK?
Yes, on a Marriage Visitor visa. That is a separate application with its own requirements.
