How much does an immigration solicitor cost?
It depends on the work. After a free 10-minute consultation, we quote a fixed fee in writing before anything starts. Home Office fees and the Immigration Health Surcharge are paid separately to the government.
Do I need a solicitor for a UK visa application?
Not legally. But a solicitor helps most where it matters: previous refusals, complicated finances, gaps in your history, or any route where the rules have recently changed.
How long does a UK visa application take?
The Home Office aims to decide most work, study and visit applications in about 3 weeks from outside the UK, and partner applications in about 12 weeks. In-country applications usually take around 8 weeks, and settlement and citizenship up to 6 months. Complex cases take longer.
What happens if my visa is refused?
Depending on the refusal, you may have a right of appeal to the First-tier Tribunal or a right to administrative review. Both have short deadlines, from 7 to 28 days. Use our deadline check, then call us.
Can I get legal aid for immigration advice?
Legal aid covers asylum and some detention matters for people who qualify, but not most visa applications. If you would be better served by a legal aid provider, we will say so.
